Green entrepreneurship has emerged as a strategic approach to improving business competitiveness while promoting environmental sustainability. However, many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) still face limitations in implementing environmentally friendly business practices due to a lack of knowledge, skills, and access to sustainable business models. This community service program aims to enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs through green entrepreneurship assistance. The program was conducted through training sessions, practical workshops, and continuous business mentoring focusing on sustainable production, eco-friendly packaging, waste management, and green marketing strategies. The results indicate improvements in participants’ understanding of green entrepreneurship concepts, adoption of environmentally friendly practices, and increased market competitiveness. This program demonstrates that structured assistance in green entrepreneurship can effectively support sustainable MSME development and local economic resilience

ASSISTANCE IN SHIP MACHINERY LEARNING TI IMPROVE THE COMPETENCE OF ENGINE CADETS

Ship machinery competence is a fundamental requirement for engine cadets as future marine engineers. However, learning challenges such as limited practical experience, uneven understanding of machinery systems, and lack of structured mentoring may hinder competency development. This community service program aims to improve the competence of engine cadets through assistance in ship machinery learning at Akademi Maritim Belawan. The program was implemented through theoretical training, hands-on practice, technical mentoring, and learning evaluation. The results show an improvement in cadets’ understanding of ship machinery systems, operational skills, and awareness of engine room safety. This program demonstrates that structured learning assistance in ship machinery effectively enhances the competence and work readiness of engine cadets in maritime education.

IMPLEMENTATION OF INTEGRATED LITERACY AND NUMERACY LEARNING TO SUPPORT THE NATIONAL ASSESSMENT

Literacy and numeracy are fundamental competencies assessed in Indonesia’s National Assessment (Asesmen Nasional). However, many schools still face challenges in implementing integrated literacy and numeracy learning across subjects. Teachers often apply literacy and numeracy separately, resulting in limited student comprehension and problem-solving skills. This community service program aims to support schools through the implementation of integrated literacy and numeracy learning to enhance students’ readiness for the National Assessment. The program was conducted through teacher training, learning material development, classroom implementation assistance, and evaluation activities. The results indicate improved teacher understanding of integrated literacy and numeracy concepts, enhanced instructional practices, and increased student engagement in learning activities. This program demonstrates that integrated literacy and numeracy learning can effectively support the achievement of National Assessment objectives and improve the quality of school learning.

MARITIME BASED RISK MANAGEMENT AS AN EFFORT TO STRENGTHEN THE ECONOMIC RESILIENCE OF COASTAL COMMUNITIES

Coastal communities rely heavily on maritime-based economic activities such as fisheries, marine transportation, and coastal tourism. However, these activities are highly exposed to various risks, including environmental, operational, financial, and safety risks. Limited awareness and capacity in risk management often weaken the economic resilience of coastal communities. This community service program aims to strengthen the economic resilience of coastal communities through the implementation of maritime-based risk management. The program was conducted through training, practical workshops, and continuous mentoring focused on risk identification, risk assessment, and risk mitigation strategies tailored to maritime activities. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding of maritime risk management, enhanced preparedness in facing operational and environmental risks, and increased economic resilience. This program demonstrates that maritime-based risk management can serve as an effective approach to empowering coastal communities and supporting sustainable coastal economic development.

Plane sailing is a fundamental component of nautical science that plays a crucial role in supporting safe and effective marine navigation. However, many cadets and maritime community members still experience difficulties in understanding plane sailing concepts and applying them in real navigation situations. This community service program aims to improve participants’ understanding of marine navigation through assistance in learning plane sailing. The program was implemented through instructional training, practical exercises, guided problem-solving sessions, and continuous mentoring. The results show a significant improvement in participants’ comprehension of plane sailing principles, navigational calculations, and practical application in marine navigation. This program demonstrates that structured learning assistance in plane sailing effectively enhances navigational competence and supports maritime safety.
